Christine and Paul's wedding with Unity Bowl and Handfasting Rituals

Christine and Paul's wedding day had lots of personal touches ranging from spiritual to humorous. Fantastic Jazz music set the tone for their special day as friends and family gathered to celebrate. The ceremony felt very warm and intimate.

For the Unity Bowl ritual each guest was asked to bring along a precious object - a crystal, stone or fossilized wood for example. During the ceremony family and friends placed offerings within a beautiful glass bowl, and expressed their wishes for the happy couple and their future together. The different objects within the Unity Bowl symbolised the many different colours, shapes and energies of love. At the end, Christine and Paul had a very beautiful memento to keep and remind them of their wedding.

The couple were joined together in matrimony using a Celtic handfasting ritual. It is from this ancient ritual that we get the saying to 'Tie The Knot'. As Christine and Paul were bound together by their vows, they were also bound together by a ceremonial rope or ribbons.

The couple were thrilled with the bespoke ceremony that modern civil celebrant Laura Craddock created for them:
"Dear Laura, Paul and I would like to thank you for creating such a beautiful and meaningful Wedding Ceremony for us. We will never forget the rituals, words and love that you shared by your inspired guidance. It was absolutely perfect, you are a true professional" - Christine & Paul.
