Kevin and Emma: Observatory Hill Wedding

Image
Kevin and Emma get married at Observatory Hill. Photo: Paul Toogood Photography. Kevin and Emma kicked off their wedding celebrations at Observatory Hill with ice-cold champagne and a Mariachi band. The ceremony was a relaxed and happy affair with lots of laughter throughout. Images by Paul Toogood Photography. "Laura was great. She made our ceremony a very special event for us and our guests. We had so many compliments afterwards about how great the ceremony was and that the words were really us. This was thanks to Laura. She helped us along the way to tailor the ceremony to run exactly how we wanted and to say what we wanted to say. We didn't have a very traditional view on the marriage ceremony and Laura was very accommodating, including all the things that we wanted to be said. She made us both feel very comfortable in preparing for the big day and made everything run very smoothly on the day itself. We couldn't recommend her h...

Christine and Paul's wedding with Unity Bowl and Handfasting Rituals

Image
Christine and Paul's wedding day had lots of personal touches ranging from spiritual to humorous. Fantastic Jazz music set the tone for their special day as friends and family gathered to celebrate. The ceremony felt very warm and intimate. For the Unity Bowl ritual each guest was asked to bring along a precious object - a crystal, stone or fossilized wood for example. During the ceremony family and friends placed offerings within a beautiful glass bowl, and expressed their wishes for the happy couple and their future together. The different objects within the Unity Bowl symbolised the many different colours, shapes and energies of love. At the end, Christine and Paul had a very beautiful memento to keep and remind them of their wedding. The couple were joined together in matrimony using a Celtic handfasting ritual. It is from this ancient ritual that we get the saying to 'Tie The Knot'. As Christine and Paul were bound together by their vows, they were...

Jess and Aaron's baking beach-side wedding

Image
Jess and Aaron's baking, beach-side wedding The temperature was pushing 46 degrees (the hottest Sydney-day on record) but everyone forgot about the heat as the gorgeous Jess walked down a petal-strewn aisle at scenic Long Reef Golf Club. Civil celebrant, Laura Craddock helped to calm and distract a nervous groom. Aaron shed a tear as his beautiful bride walked down the aisle, but once Jess was by his side Aaron was the happiest man alive. Family and friends cheered on as Aaron and Jess committed to each other for the rest of their lives together.  The  simple, yet meaningful civil marriage ceremony was just what the couple wanted. "Aaron and I wanted to thank you again. We both had an amazing day and appreciated how easy you made the process of planning and performing the ceremony." Jess said.  Jonathan David Photography was there to capture all the joy and emotion of the their wedding day.

Goodbye 'summer', Hello winter

Over the last few days a chill has descended on Sydney and it's time to admit that summer is well and truly over. It's time to look ahead to all the wonderful things about winter...crisp, blue days (it's actually dryer in Sydney in winter, than in summer), cosy slippers, toasty fires and heartwarming stews for example. But before we look ahead, I wanted to quickly reflect on the summer that has just passed. While by no means the warmest or dryest summer on record, Sydney's brides and grooms didn't let the weather get in the way of love. Despite the less-than-ideal weather there have been some absolutely beautiful weddings over the last few months. From Palm Beach to Coolangatta and all around this beautiful city of Sydney, Laura has been privileged to be involved in so many happy occasions, each one special and unique. There have been lots of happy memories from Summer 2011/2012... breathtaking harbour-side and park locations, moving family tributes, touching and he...

A novel way of propsing?

Author Christopher Currie's debut novel, The Ottoman Motel, includes a very personal cliffhanger in the acknowledgements in which he proposes to his girlfriend, Leesa Wockner. "I suppose, the really brave (or stupid) thing was knowing that my proposal would be in print forever, and I would look like a real idiot if it didn’t come off." Currie told Crikey's Literary Minded blog. From the ring to writing your own vows, civil marriage celebrant Laura Craddock can help you personalise everything about your wedding.

Congratulations Nicky & Troy!

Laura married us one week ago and I could not recommend her highly enough. When we were looking for a celebrant we didn't really know what we were looking for until we received an email in response to our enquiry from Laura. She was warm, professional and natural and this stood out compared to the other responses, we then knew we had found the celebrant for us. Laura made the whole process seamless and enjoyable, she provided guidance and the appropriate amount assistance to create a ceremony that was unique to us and enjoyed by all of our guests. - Nicky & Troy Laura Craddock is a Sydney civil marriage celebrant , who specialises in creating custom-made weddings and other ceremonies especially for each couple.
