Steve and Mez  I first met Steve and Mez via Skype as they began to arrange their Australian marriage celebrations from overseas. Months of planning and organisation all came to a perfect conclusion as family and friends gathered in the Hunter Valley to celebrate with the gorgeous couple. Mez being walked down the aisle by her father - Photo by James Bennett Steve and Mez were very happy with the celebrant services offered by Laura Craddock: "Laura truly was excellent. From the moment we first spoke to her on the phone all the way through to the ceremony on our big day, she was just a pleasure to work with and was amazing on the day, ensuring our wedding was simply perfect." - Steve and Mez The 'Giving Away' - Photo by James Bennett The exchange of vows. Phoebe and Ryan's Taronga Zoo wedding

Image
Phoebe and Ryan get married at Taronga Zoo, Sydney Phoebe and Ryan were thrilled with every aspect of their Taronga Zoo wedding in Sydney, but what they loved most was their marriage ceremony performed by modern Sydney celebrant Laura Craddock. "Laura was very professional to work with, but, most importantly, so personable, relaxed, warm, and accommodating. So many of our guests asked us how we found Laura - in fact, we'd witnessed our friends be married by Laura last year, and knew we'd love to have her marry us - Laura really makes the ceremony personal. Our guests commented that they really enjoyed the ceremony - it was fun, and really personalised." Giraffes look on as Phoebe and Ryan say 'I Do' "Whilst Laura's happy to be guided by your wishes and vision for the day, she also has plenty of suggestions and options if you just don't know where to start with everything. Laura really captured our relationship and co...

Watsons Bay elopement Victoria and Shane traveled all the way from Nelson City in the South Island of New Zealand to elope at beautiful Watsons Bay. They had fallen in love and become engaged there several months earlier and couldn't think of a better place to marry. Victoria and Shane elope at Watsons Bay. Photo by Leanne King / Crackerjack Photographic Studio "Laura, Sydney Celebrant, helped us to make it all happen without a single glitch! ... Nothing was a problem to Laura - and she communicates so well, that being separated from us by the Tasman Sea was never a hurdle. She interpreted the words we wrote for our ceremony, so sensitively and with much respect, ensuring we felt it was very much about us and our personalities." - Victoria and Shane Photo by Leanne King / Crackerjack Photographic Studio "Thank you, yet again, for making our day so incredibly meaningful and memorable. Big hugs to you!" - Victoria and Shane Photo by...

Kevin and Emma: Observatory Hill Wedding

Image
Kevin and Emma get married at Observatory Hill. Photo: Paul Toogood Photography. Kevin and Emma kicked off their wedding celebrations at Observatory Hill with ice-cold champagne and a Mariachi band. The ceremony was a relaxed and happy affair with lots of laughter throughout. Images by Paul Toogood Photography. "Laura was great. She made our ceremony a very special event for us and our guests. We had so many compliments afterwards about how great the ceremony was and that the words were really us. This was thanks to Laura. She helped us along the way to tailor the ceremony to run exactly how we wanted and to say what we wanted to say. We didn't have a very traditional view on the marriage ceremony and Laura was very accommodating, including all the things that we wanted to be said. She made us both feel very comfortable in preparing for the big day and made everything run very smoothly on the day itself. We couldn't recommend her h...

Amy and Gavin get married, Kogarah

Image
Amy and Gavin had a ball at their wedding at Kogarah Golf Club. Sydney celebrant Laura Craddock was on-hand to guide and inspire the couple. Georgia's Baby Naming Day

Image
Georgia's Naming Day was a simple and happy occasion filled with love. Extended family and friends gathered at Wahroonga Park to celebrate the birth of this beautiful little girl and formally welcome her into their lives. Georgia seemed to soak up all the love surrounding her and was content to be the centre of attention. Parents were able to give thanks for the blessing of their gorgeous daughter and acknowledge the joy she brings into their lives. They went on to honour Georgia's grandparents and appoint godparents, the people who will play a special role throughout her life. Georgia's spiritual mentor was also appointed and they offered a prayer they had written especially for the occasion. Personal touches like this gave the ceremony extra meaning. The sight of coloured rose petals floating down over Georgia during the petal blessing was a joy to watch. Each colour represented a quality or value that her parents want as a part of her life. Loved ones enjoyed...

Emily and Rafael's Sydney harbour-side wedding

Image
The threat of rain didn't dampen the spirits at Emily and Rafael's gorgeous harbour-side wedding in Mosman, Sydney. The handsome groom was excited and a tad nervous waiting for his gorgeous bride to arrive. Her stunning entry down the steps of Bradley's Head Amphitheatre.   Bradley's Head Amphitheatre is one of my favourite wedding venues in Sydney. Access can be a little tricky with limited on-site parking, but the dramatic harbour views are well worth the effort. The sloped, grassy amphitheatre is surrounded by bushland and cliffs, providing a very intimate and private location - the perfect spot for a Sydney wedding. Wedding guests face the sparkling blue harbour ( almost at water-level) and look out at passing boats and iconic views of the Sydney Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge. The ceremony went off without a hitch . Emily and Rafael chose lovely readings and lots of personal details that had guests laughing and crying. T he couple excha...

Jo and Stacy's love & commitment

Image
It was like a scene from a storybook romance as Jo and Stacy celebrated their love at Newtown's Berkelouw Books. The gorgeous couple were cheered on by family, friends and their two adorable children as they promised to love, honour and care for one another for the rest of their lives. Jo and Stacy's Commitment Ceremony had lots of lovely, personal touches... acknowledgments to loved ones, a ring warming ritual and a heartfelt song performed by family. Berkelouw Books provided a stunning and character-filled setting, which the couple had styled with a vintage literary feel. Lara Holtz Photography captured the love, happiness and personality of this special day perfectly. As a civil celebrant it is my great frustration that I wasn't able to perform a legal marriage for Jo and Stacy.  I strongly believe that marriage should not be defined by whom it excludes. Rather marriage should be celebrated and strengthened by focusing on it's core values of ...

Jocelyn and Peter's auspicious wedding day

Image
The lush jade-green of Sydney's Chinese Gardens formed a gorgeous backdrop for Jocelyn and Peter's wedding day. And what a day it was - the 12th day of the 12th month in 2012! The happy couple were sure to be lucky in love with these auspicious numbers on their side. Bride and groom were overjoyed to commit to one another in a warm and personalised ceremony .   " Thanks again for putting so much effort into our special day, you were absolutely wonderful. We got so much positive comment regarding the ceremony, people loved the intimacy and the special, personal touches you added."  Laura Craddock is a modern Sydney celebrant who creates personalised wedding ceremonies for Sydney couples to enjoy.

Goodbye 'summer', Hello winter

Over the last few days a chill has descended on Sydney and it's time to admit that summer is well and truly over. It's time to look ahead to all the wonderful things about winter...crisp, blue days (it's actually dryer in Sydney in winter, than in summer), cosy slippers, toasty fires and heartwarming stews for example. But before we look ahead, I wanted to quickly reflect on the summer that has just passed. While by no means the warmest or dryest summer on record, Sydney's brides and grooms didn't let the weather get in the way of love. Despite the less-than-ideal weather there have been some absolutely beautiful weddings over the last few months. From Palm Beach to Coolangatta and all around this beautiful city of Sydney, Laura has been privileged to be involved in so many happy occasions, each one special and unique. There have been lots of happy memories from Summer 2011/2012... breathtaking harbour-side and park locations, moving family tributes, touching and he...

5 star review of Laura Craddock

"Our wedding was not the run of the mill so we expected to have some trouble finding a celebrant who could deliver what we were looking for. However, from our first meeting with Laura we knew we were in good hands. She was understanding and professional with the preparations and delivered the ceremony with warmth and grace. We couldn't have asked for things to have gone better abd we couldn't recommend Laura highly enough" Read this and other reviews of civil celebrant Laura Craddock > Laura Craddock is a civil marriage celebrant based in Sydney, Australia.

As seen in Harper's Bazaar

Image
Sydney celebrant Laura Craddock marries Nicky Oatley and Troy Tindill in a beautiful Sydney harbour-side wedding. Harper's Bazaar was there to capture all the gorgeous moments from this memorable day. The bride gave Laura a 5 s tar review: "Laura married us one week ago and I could not recommend her highly enough. When we were looking for a celebrant we didn't really know what we were looking for until we received an email in response to our enquiry from Laura. She was warm, professional and natural and this stood out compared to the other responses, we then knew we had found the celebrant for us. Laura made the whole process seamless and enjoyable, she provided guidance and the appropriate amount assistance to create a ceremony that was unique to us and enjoyed by all of our guests."- Nicky

Congratulations Sara & Andrew!

"Laura is an exceptionally professional and lovely person. She used her humour and understanding to help us design exactly what we wanted for our wedding day. On the day she was cool, calm and collected (even though the Bride and Groom got lost en route!). She thought of every detail; from printing out my mother's readings on special paper as a keepsake to having a hanky ready just when I needed it most. The ceremony was beautiful and I would not have changed a thing. She also helped educate us about the documentation process and she put us at ease about the international nature of our union. I highly recommend Laura Craddock!" - Sara & Andrew, October 2010 (Laura Craddock - Civil Celebrant, Marrickville ) Laura Craddock is a modern civil celebrant based in Marrickville, in Sydney's inner-west.
